I am a textile artist living and working in Dorset in the south of England.   I have taught in the area for many years at various levels including City and Guilds.   I have exhibited widely and my work is held in private collections in this country and abroad.

My current work is very much influenced by the Swiss artist Paul Klee and the Austrian artist, Hundertwasser, although the resulting pieces are totally different from their work.

I have developed new techniques and ideas which fall into three styles -

Framed work using paint, paper and sheer fabrics, inspired by the works of Klee.

Colourful reverse appliqué work which initially looks as if it is on paper but is in fact worked with fabric, although papers are incorporated in the appliqué.

Box canvasses to which textiles have been applied.

I like my work to have a sense of fun and happiness about it – the colour is vibrant and this lifts the spirit.
